On-Demand: Call for Dates
2 hours simulator training. Scenario based. $80/Student. Includes simulator rental and instructor time. Class size is limited to 4 students/class. Each class is 2 hours in length.
You must have a current Minnesota Permit to Carry license to take this training.
In this course, which you might want to repeat several times, you’ll be presented with different scenarios in which you’ll have to make split-second decisions about whether to show your weapon, draw your weapon or fire. You will experience different levels of stress and different scenarios that will test your ability to apply what you’ve learned in the various firearm classes you’ve taken. Technically, this is a non-shooting course. You’ll use a laser gun that is Glock-styled. Barriers are available to use during your scenario training. You will learn:
- Situational awareness
- verbal commands to diffuse a threatening situation
- verbal commands that you should use during an incident to help yourself in the event you are charged criminally after an incident
- verbal commands that you should never use during a threatening incident – they are likely to hurt you if you are charged criminally
- decision points for drawing and shooting during a threatening incident
Each student will run through a scenario while your instructor and the other three student watch. After you have run through the scenario, we’ll discuss what you could have done differently, look at where you actually shot your firearm, discern if you were shot and review verbal commands that you could have used to diffuse the threat.
It’s one thing to get a Minnesota Permit to Carry license. It’s another thing to know how to use it in different scenarios and to be forced to decide when you should brandish, draw and/or shoot your firearm. We believe that every person who has a permit to carry license should take the responsibility to attend simulator training when it is made available to them. You will find it to be invaluable.
