Diane is a retired Minnesota Police Officer with ten years on patrol and eighteen as a Detective. She served as a Field Training Officer while on patrol, and developed a training guide for new Detectives on the department. Diane’s career gave her the experience of safely carrying guns on and off duty. She also had the top score in one Department wide shooting competition.
Diane volunteered at the department sponsored Safety Camp, where she helped grade school age children learn how to be safe in different situations. She also spoke to adult groups from the community, who were learning about crime prevention. During this past fall Semester, Diane taught a college-level Criminal Investigation course.
Growing up, Diane was part of an extended family of hunters. She and her husband introduced several foreign exchanged students to the Minnesota deer hunting experience. They also worked together to teach the DNR Firearm Safety class.
Diane has a special interest in working with women to help them learn how to handle firearms safely and ensure they purchase the right firearm relative to their personal characteristics and situation. You’ll find Diane to be enjoyable and pleasant to work with and we’re confident that you’ll gain a comfort level with her that you’ll not have with many other firearm instructors.
